Os de mer
Axel MOREL créé des oeuvres qui traitent de la thématique de l’eau et plus particulièrement de l’océan. Ces oeuvres sont travaillées comme des carapaces d’animaux fantastiques sur lesquels se sont accrochés des vestiges de coraux. Des « os de mer », mis en scène comme des trophées d’un cabinet de curiosités.
Des pieuvres fossilisées comme des pièces d’orfèvrerie, sortent des cadres pour s’offrir aux regards en déployant leurs tentacules dorés, créant ainsi un récit onirique.
Au travers de ces œuvres, il nous rappelle la fragilité de la vie dans les profondeurs de l’océan et nous renvoie à notre propre finitude.
Sea bones
Axel MOREL offers us several works linked to the theme of water and more particularly linked to the ocean. These art pieces are worked as fantastic animal shells on which stands coral, “sea bones,” are displayed like trophies from a cabinet of curiosities.
Fossilized octopuses like pieces of goldwork, emerge from the frames to offer themselves to the eye by deploying their golden tentacles, thus creating a dreamlike story.
Through these works, he reminds us of the fragility of life in the depths of the ocean and help remind us to our own ending.

Vanités et cartes imaginaires
Les vanités trouvent leurs racines dans l'art baroque du XVIIe siècle. A la fois effrayantes et fascinantes, elle servent de rappel poignant de la fugacité de la vie et de l'inéluctabilité de la fin. Elles tendent à explorer des questions existentielles, profondes, sur la nature éphémère de l'existence.
Les cartes imaginaires, sont des projections de parcours qui ne sont pas sans résonner avec les cartes mentales des aborigènes d’Australie. Chaque tracé nous raconte une histoire et invite chacune et chacun à se perdre dans un exercice contemplatif.

imaginary maps
Vanitas have their roots in 17th-century Baroque art. At once frightening and fascinating, they serve as poignant reminders of the transience of life and the inevitability of the end. They tend to explore deep, existential questions about the ephemeral nature of existence.
The imaginary maps are projections of journeys that resonate with the mental maps of Australia's aborigines. Each trail tells a story, inviting us to lose ourselves in a contemplative exercise.

MBMC My body my choice
My Body, My Choice est un slogan décrivant la liberté de choix sur des questions touchant au corps et à la santé, telles que l'autonomie physique, l'avortement et les soins de fin de vie. Ce slogan est apparu vers 1969, lorsque des féministes ont défendu le droit d'un individu à l'autodétermination de son corps en matière de sexualité, de mariage et de droits de l'homme. Le slogan a été utilisé dans le monde entier jusqu'à aujourd'hui, notamment lors de marches et d'actions de protestation.
My Body, My Choice est un slogan censé représenter l'idée d'autonomie et d'intégrité physique, de liberté de choix. L'autonomie physique est l'autodétermination de son propre corps sans domination ou contrainte extérieure.
My Body, My Choice est un slogan qui peut s'appliquer à tout être humain, quel qu'il soit et quelle que soit son genre ou son orientation sexuelle. Si une orientation sexuelle n'est pas un choix, les gens doivent avoir le choix de l'assumer et ne doivent pas être stigmatisés à cause d'elle.
Le 6 novembre 2024, un commentateur d'extrême droite, juste après la victoire de D. Trump, clamait sur son Tiktok tube " Your body, my choice... ". Ce type, hilare, s'adressait aux femmes du monde entier - et à toutes les minorités - pour leur dire qu’elles, qu’ils avaient perdu leur propre liberté.
A ce moment là, j'ai décidé de réagir, et j'ai choisi de créer une série de dessins et de broderies sous le titre My Body, My Choice et je ne cesserai jamais de crier que mon corps est mon choix, et que ce choix est ma liberté.

My Body, My Choice is a slogan describing freedom of choice on issues affecting the body and health, such as bodily autonomy, abortion and end-of-life-care. This slogan emerged around 1969 with feminists defending an individual's right of self determination over their bodies for sexual, marriage and as rights. The slogan has been used around the world until today, specifically during march and protest actions.
My Body, My Choice is a slogan that is meant to represent the idea of personal bodily autonomy andintegrity and freedom of choice. Bodily autonomy constitutes self determination over one's own body without external domination or duress.
My Body, My Choice is a slogan with can be applicate for the human being, whoever they are and whatever is their gender or their sexual orientation. If a sexual orientations not a choice, people must have the choice to deal with it, and should not be stigmatized because of it.
On november 6th 2024, a commentator from the extreme right side, just after the winning of D. Trump, claimed on his Tiktok tube « Your body, my choice…». This guy, hilarious was talking to worldwide women - and to all minorities - that they had loose they own freedom.
At this moment, I decided to react, and I choose to create a series of drawing and embroideries under the name of My Body, My Choice, and I will never stop shouting that my body is my choice and my choice is my freedom.
